A wise old owl sat on an oak...

Weather permitting - seeing as around 98% of the UK is underwater or being rained on, I've managed to dash out between the spells of rain, for a post today!
My mom - being a secret shopaholic - (I think that's probably where I've got it from) brought me a lovely dress and satchel from her recent trip to London. Since opening my Satchel on Christmas day, I haven't put it down! It's a stunning vintage leather satchel - and I LOVE IT! Originally, I wanted a Cambridge Satchel. But, I think what makes vintage pieces so special, is you won't see many other parading them around town! PLUS IT'S HALF THE PRICE! My dress was another 'wise' purchase from Camden Loch market, and I've been seeing them everywhere recently...

I just love the pattern on the dress - being an owl lover myself, I can understand why my mom couldn't resist it! After a trip to town, I found they sell a similar design in New Look, Debenham's and Dorothy Perkins. I pared it with a mustard cardigan from Primark - another favourite piece this season!

This Pocket Watch was a beautiful Christmas present from a friend from School - Emma-lee. Yes that's Emma-lee (and don't you forget it!). So although I can't tell you where it's from, it's a great example of what to look for, when searching for your own! This one works - so finally I'm keeping track of my time!
Looks Great + Keeps Track of Time = Not Taking It off!!

I couldn't contain my excitement over my new satchel... as you can see! It was brought with a purpose of use for university - though somehow I can't see it lasting that long (however strong the leather is), once I've started using it. The straps are also adjustable, and the colour means I can match it with pretty much anything!

What Blondie Wears: Dress - (similar) New Look, Cardigan, Boots, Socks - Primark, Leggings - Matalan, Satchel - Vintage, Necklace - a present!

Well, that's all for today. I've got revision cards to make, books to read and notes to take - oh the joys!
Have a lovely day; wherever you are!

Lots of Love,

The perfect excuse for wearing furs...

7 sleeps till CHRISTMAS! This is too exciting!
As you know, during my hectic weekend of singing at various Christmas concerts, arranging my holidays and enjoying a Saturday night at the Free Live 2012 concert, I did manage to get a few shots for a post done.... (believe it or not?!)

I've been doing some pre-Christmas shopping, as I couldn't wait the extra week for my mom to surprise me! I've been looking for a faux fur since early November, and thanks to 'Select' I finally sourced a high-street steal! Yay! I've also been dying for some velvet in my wardrobe (although I've been avoiding it, due to my best friends phobia) However, Thanks to Top Shop, and my lovely Vodafone rewards voucher, have finally completed my mission...

I fell in love with this Faux fur from Select, as it doesn't spell tacky! I hate the furs that really look their price, and you always have to bare this in mind when shopping. The pattern is subtly, which means I can pair it up with a number of different outfits - I mean who every thought velvet AND furs? The pin attached is courtesy of Primark, and just adds the final touches to the coat. I already went one step further, to buy myself a large furs, but on this particular fur, the three quarter sleeves and cropped jacket, make it great on a night out, as it's not to heavy to carry!

I loved the lace detail on this Primark top. It was initially one of my shirts for sixth form, but it was so cute I've just been wearing it every weekend instead!
The velvet shorts are now my no.1 wardrobe item. I just love the vintage style buttons, and they fit lovely - unlike many of the Top Shop shorts, which are always too big or too small!

For those 'one off pieces' - now on the HighStreet X

So, I love Autumn/Winter...
There's just so many reasons why.
Santa comes to town, I got to lots of lovely event, Spend time with family, go crazy in the sales, enjoy snuggling up in my woollies and greeting the fluffy snow each morning!

Winter is also an opportunity to develop your own style, with so many different styles and trends to choose from - what's not love!

I've gone mad over leather, military, geometry and a bit of baroque. But what I really love, is the opportunity to buy those 'one off' look's which last right through till spring, and add some originality to your wardrobe.
Most people think they have to gone on mad Vintage hunts to get these 'gem's,' but thanks to the ever growing high street chain's, you can still pick up some unique items from your local shops!

Here's just a few examples of what's on offer in some high street stores - that you'll find difficult to find anywhere else!

Burning With A Cold Flame...

As promised, another post coming your way! Two in one day (you lucky things...)

So the sun was shinning this afternoon - perfect for the wedding I was singing at! Turned out, it was an old friend's sister getting married; which made it super cute! Lucky for them the weather was nice! Unlucky for me the weather has turned ugly! I'm supposed to be going with my family to a bomfire display tonight - but if it keeps raining... YOU CAN COUNT ME OUT! I've never been the hugest fan of fireworks; not since we had our own 'display' at my house a few years ago and nearly set our Thatched Cottage roof alight. It seemed my dad was unaware that fireworks have to be dug into the ground - so sent the whole thing, up in the air (whoops) - as a result, our family tend's to give fireworks a miss since then! Though I am still very much looking forward to wearing my lovely new coat - THANKS DOTTY P! :D

Today's post is my 'keep me warm' outfit. I just love winter. It's a great excuse to slob around in oversized jumpers, load on the layers and enjoy lots of hot drinks! Please excuse the poor quality of today's photos, my cammera has been playing up on me - you cant guess what's on my christmas list!

I just love this jumper! Here's my secret behind it. If you want it, you'll find it in the mens section of Primark. I was unimpressed my some of the ladies jumpers designs - they were either to thick for what I wanted, or I didn't like the design. Insted I found myself among a crowd of men trying on jumpers in the smallest sizes! There were some amazing jumpers, with great price tag's and I've fallen in love with mine :)

Motel Dresses AW12X

YAY it's Saturday!
Hope your all getting out your woollies for tonight's Bomfire celebrations! I've purchased a lovely new coat - thanks to Dorothy Perkins, so I'll get my act together and put a post up later today :D

I have a confession...I'm in love with the latest Motel Dress range!!!!!!!!!!!!
Think... Glimmering Sparkles. Delicate Details. And Gorgeous Patterns!
I've selected a few of my favourite dresses,  that I think are perfect for winter parties and let you know how best to style them :) So enjoy, and if you fancy checking out the website for yourself - click here!
This Motel Alex Pleather Peplum Dress is one of my favourites! It has Black Tie Dye, which gives it such a lovely pattern, and fits lovely - great if you want to show off your figure! The Pleather Peplum detail adds further shape to this dress, and really stands out from current trends. This Dress would look great with your favourite heels, a statement jewellery piece, and a a warm leather jacket (as summer nights are a year away!). I'd also suggest getting some thick tights or knee high socks, if your not hitting the clubs in this number! click here to see online.

Guest Shoot #1 - An Autumn's Day

Hiiii there!
I hope you've been enjoying your weekend!
Tonight I'm having a lovely night in with my momma watching some Saturday night TV!
However, I may be in bed, before I get chance to watch the end of X factor! Yesterday I was up till all hours catching up with my girlies. We ate our weight in chocolate, watched every Rom-Com ever released and looked back at some very ancient photos (cringe) of ourselves!
As my Half term is coming to an end, I'm afraid reality has to set in... that I still have a pile of homework, and shortly my 'daily' blog posts, will turn into 'weekly' 'if I'm not busy' posts :'(
But, before I swap my Camera and Laptop for Pen and Paper, I've got a last few days of blogging to cram in for you!
As part of my new idea of 'Guest Shoots,' I've finally persuaded - more like bribed - my friend Charlotte (pictured above on the left) to have a shoot. This is my first attempt, but I hope to make this a regular thing! It was great fun - mainly because we re-discovered our childhood love of Autumn. Especially, the many dried leaves that cover the ground - which are also great fun to throw at each other! So here's our lovely shoot! (please let me know what you think!!!!) X

Very Best of Next AW12 X

Hey there!
Turns out I've spent the most of my Week off school, blogging, eating and doing homework... the joys!

I found a lovely competition to enter on http://www.amyantoinette.com/ blog page! Amy has teamed up with Next in an exciting competition, to win £500 worth of Next vouchers! The great thing about Next, is that it offers something for everyone! Me and my momma regularly do swaps on Next clothing, and fight over who is aloud to buy which top! So here's my entry! If you fancy having a go for yourself check it out now! All the outfits bellow, can be found on the Next website: http://www.next.co.uk/:) ENJOY X
My first outfit is this lovely Lipsy wax lace shift dress. Just because Winter's here doesn't mean you can't wear your favourite dress with a pair of heals! I love the Gold over wax design, it's so elegant, and perfect for Christmas parties! I've pared it with some glittery heals, as a girls outfit is never complete with a sprinkle of glitter! Accessorize with a black and beaded clutch, and John Richard Vine Necklace, to set your outfit off. Not forgetting a lovely Sparkle Jacket, as let's not forget, it may be hot on the dance floor - but it'll be freezing outside (from personal experience, trust me on this one!). Dress: £70, Shoe's £45, Clutch £35, Necklace £30, Jacket £38.

Casting an Autumn Spell X

Well I've just about recovered after a crazy weekend!
Kelly Clarkson was amazing on Sunday - She's been an idol of mine since I was little, so it was so great to finally see her - and that she sang all my old time favourites too!!!!!
We've got half term next week, but lucky me - I've got work experience! So it won't be much of a break.
Still I'm very excited, as any opportunity to develop my understanding of a career in Marketing should be fun! Plus it gives me something productive to do with my week - apart from shopping!
I'm off now to one of my many dance lessons, followed by a piano lesson - the joys of being young!

As I've been majorly busy, I'm throwing on whatever's at the front of the wardrobe at the moment, relying on my classic 'blue scarf' that I'm way to obsessed with! While completing some (unskilled) photography of my Garden for my art homework, here's a little sneak at today's mixxxxxx mash!

Winter Woollies and Cosy Coats X

So It's been another hectic week in my household.
Now, I could complain to you about how tired I am, or how I still have a pile of homework to catchup on, or that I've willingly volunteered to give up my Saturday to go on an 'all day visit' to York University, for a History Lecture...... No....... Because that would be incredibly dull.

Instead in the search for my perfect AW12 Coat, and some equally snuggly woollies to make a shopping trip worthwhile. So thanks to the Internet and online shopping (MY HEAVEN!) I've found a a few pieces, I may have fallen in love with!

New Look and Sparkle Fashion Blog Comp X

It's that time again, I've found another brilliant competition to enter, thanks to New Look and 'Sparkle Fashion Blog.' I love my jeans - as they are essential part of every girls wardrobe! So when I was asked to take part in putting together an outfit, centred around the 'classic jeans,' I knew, the only problem would be finding just ONE outfit to enter!

AW12 Accessories! X

Hey Everyone!

Sorry, Post's are going to be slow during the weekdays - I shall pre-warn you of that now! I had my third day of 6th form today - and the 'heals every day' mission failed.

Thanks for all your help with the 'outfit' crisis, by the way! There's nothing like a good sensible pair of flat pumps! So the work load has already started and I'm currently juggling: writing my blog, writing my 'harvest festival artical' for my local Church magazine and frantically jotting down notes on cell structures for biology... But then that's the fun of A levels!

So in-between the frantic mess of my 'back to school' schedules, I've managed to pull out a few 'KEY PIECES' for your Autumn 2012 wardrobe. Her's just a sneak peak of what the great British high street has to offer you!

CALLING ALL BLOGGERS - HELP!

Hey guys, this is a quickie.

I'm back to School/Collage tomorrow, and as usual I'm stressing. I need some girl to girl tips on what to wear. I've lined up some outfits, so If you've got a few minutes, drop a comment for which ones your favourite! I love them all, but unfortunately going into 6th form, has meant a brand new take on 'formal uniform' - you can guarantee the first day is going to be a head to head fashion contest (the joys!).
So here it is my outfit line up. All comments are welcome! (trust me....)

For anyone else going back to Work/School, this small selection might give you some inspiration too! I'm not used to all this formal clothing, and neither is my very empty piggy bank, so bear with me! Enjoy X

House of Fraser - Competition Entry X

Blondie's at it again...I couldn't resist this competition when House of Fraser contacted me about it!

Their branding is so unique and give a feel of luxury! I love a good window shop in their nearest store and have already brought many beautiful items for my Autumn wardrobe, this year! So when I was contacted about this up coming competition, I was struck with choice of choosing the perfect outfit - that in itself was a challenge, as I had a list of around 15...

~September Early Morning Secret's~

HOLA CHICAS!
It's fair to say every person in England is trying to ignore the obvious signs that September is lingering in the distance. There are three reasons for this. You go back to school/collage/work starts back up in 'full swing'. You are also confronted with a pile of 'summer' added weight, you now need to loose. And finally, the early starts with darker mornings begins! I've just entered a beauty competition, all about 'your secret's to getting the best start in the morning' and I thought I'd share mine with all your lucky readers. So SHUSH!
