DIY Sunglasses...

Hello!
The sun has failed to make an appearance over the last few days. However, by trying to stay positive, I've resorted to a DIY sunglasses post for today. Instead of persuading you to go and get yourself a worthy rain mac (though this might be more sensible) I thought I'd show you how to spice up your sunnies, in a fun way! + it's DEAD easy!

To style up your glasses, all you need is:
1. Cheap pair of classes. Mine were £1.49 from Ebay - get them here...
2. Customise, with anything you fancy. I used Flowers, also from Ebay - get them here...
3. A way off attaching decoration. I used a glue gun, but PVA will also work.

 How to attach your decoration:

1. Staring from the outside, working your way in, put a blob of glue on the base of the flower decoration.
2. Hold the decoration gently in place on the glasses.
3. Repeat this, by adding one onto each side of the glasses, until you reach the centre.
4.  while the glue is drying, remove any glue which may have spread onto the glasses.

You can style up your glasses however you want to, and put more/less decoration on than I have. This is a great idea, if your going to any festivals (*cough* v-festival) this summer, as they look too cute and help you personalise the whole 'shorts, shorts and more shorts' festival style.

I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot more of these glasses - sun, or no sun - and for a total of £3.00, it's easy to have a go and make your own!

the festival countdown has begun...

I've got a little Saturday post for you!
Festival season is fast approaching and as my excitement brims for V festival, I thought I'd put together a few festival outfit ideas and make a little 'wishlist' - to inspire you for your own festival outfit's - where ever you may be!

I wore this outfit, a few days ago when I was feeling summery, and it reminded me of festivals! The Shorts were a little bargain last year, £3.50 from Matalan (click here to see similar). I love the pattern on them and they're really colourful. They are also seriously light weight - so are great if its a warm day - or you need to carry them around for day 2! They're high waisted, which means you can get away with wearing a crop top, without having the whole of your belly on show (though, it kinda defeats the point of them.. but hey).

The jacket was also another 'last years purchase' I've pulled out of my wardrobe - mainly as a way of proving to my mom, I DON'T need a spring clean out (even though I most probably do..).
It was around £10 from Primark, and is great to dress up an outfit. I love the edgy sleeves and the light blue colour which matches up with pretty much everything.

I love crop top's at the moment. This purple crop top, was part of a two for £8 offer at Newlook. I love it's simplicity, which means you can pair it up with pretty much anything!
My headband was another recent purchase. I fell in love with Lana Del Ray's flower crowns and have been looking for one similar to the beauties from Crown and Glory. However, until I can save up some pennies, I found this thrifty crown, which was £3 from Primark. It's so cute, so I'm sure you'll be seeing alot more of it in future posts!

Return of the blonde... floral prints X

And blondie has returned - no the aren't exams over - but I was fed up of revision...
So, I told myself I wasn't going to spend any money until AFTER the exams. However, retail therapy is proven to be a great 'anti-stress' remedy, so I thought I'd give it a try. I can say, that it works brilliantly.. but I'm now in debt to my parents (whoops).

As my next exam isn't for 2 weeks, I thought I'd take the opportunity to put down the work books and get blogging. Today's outfit was a little floral number I wore for a meal out with my nan, over the weekend. It was her 88th birthday last weekend - so happy birthday nan!

 I think it's about time you met the number one fella in my life - ISSAC; the big fat cat! Technically he's my neighbours, but he likes to stop by for an occasional visit.
He's also a CAT PHOTO BOMBER! If there was prize for the most photogenic cat - he'd win it. So, as you can see, he was keen to get in the photo and well he made them a bit more interesting as well!

 What Blondie's Wearing: Dress/Top/Belt - Primark, Socks - Dorothy Perkins, Bag - Charity Shop, Cardigan - Next, Bracelet - Fat Face.

The dress was a Primark steal for £10. I have a weakness for floral clothing and this dress reminded me of Cath Kidston! I added a black collar to create a neckline, and added a belt to gather the dress at the waist (it's my little trick for clothes that aren't tightly fitted).

The shoes were an old pair of sandals I dug out from my moms wardrobe (so thanks mom!). As I'm still awaiting a 'half term' shopping spree, where I'm hoping to purchase some new sandals, I thought I'd style up an old pair with a cute pair of frilled socks (well, you know me...).
 My cardigan was also stolen from my sister's wardrobe! The first signs of sun, over the weekend, have got me attached to everything pastel, so this outfit was no exception.

Spring Wish List.. Well a girl can dream, right?

Thank God It's the weekend - that's all I can say!
 I got my AS results on Thursday, along with most of the UK. When they told me that A-Levels would be hard, back in September, they definitely weren't joking! It's the moto 'bring on re-sits for me'...

Rather than scaring you away with my moaning, I thought I'd do a little post with all the items I'd love to wear this Spring - just a shame I don't have the loose change to purchase just yet! (p.s. all donations accepted - and no A levels required...).

1.  Moto Teal Cord Pini Dress - Top Shop £42. I love pinafore dresses, especially in spring and it's about time I updated my wardrobe denim's. I'd wear this with a white shirt, some ankle trimmed socks and some creepers.
2. 'Whole lotta Rosie Headband -Baby Blue' - Crown and Glory £20. I've wanted one of these headbands from Crown and Glory for ages, so it's about time I took the plunge, as it'll look lovely with a patterned dress  and sandals.

3. Collar Detail Dress by Wal G - Top Shop £33. Pastel colours are great during spring, and as my love of Top Shop dresses broadens, I'd love this in my collection, paired with cardigan and some brogues.

4.Red Textured Turtle Neck Crop Top - River Island £16. Every wardrobe requires something bright this season, whether it's neon (or not in my case), this red crop top is the perfect alternative. I'd love to go crazy and wear them with some patterned trousers, with your favourite canvas shoes.

5. Printed trousers - H&M £12.99. These printed trousers caught my eye when I was flicking through my H&M catalogue, and well these are at the top of my list for when I finally get a chance to go shopping! Printed trousers are a must have - dress them up with a shirt and heels for work and dress down with pumps and a block coloured cardigan.

6. Shelly Black Current Skirt - Vintage Style Me £15. Vintage Style Me, is a little online vintage store, which sells beautifully made designs. I fell in love with this circled skirt, for the spring/summer days. Wear with a pale shirt, frilly socks and brogues.

I'm hoping to get my act together and get an outfit post up later today, so watch out!

'To love and to cherish'...The National Wedding Show NEC 2013...

I have a special post lined up for you today, following my little visit to the National Wedding Show at the NEC yesterday, accompanied by the lovely friend/photographer - Emma-lee. (she's on twitter: @cakemixture)

For those of you who read my blog regularly will know I'm currently study Weddings as part of my Art project's, and I was keen to seek inspiration for my own designs. I had a chat with a few readers and you suggested I attend the event to give you my own little summary of the event and let you know, this seasons' must have's for your wedding!

Number one of my list was the vintage section (well you know me). I fell in love with a few particular Vintage stalls...

Memories of Vintage - was a lovely company who supply vintage crockery hire! I fell in love with the whole composition of the stall, and for anyone looking to have a vintage style wedding/party event, I strongly suggest you check out their website and see for yourself, what they offer: www.memoriesofvintage.co.uk

Timeless Couture - Another beautifully presented stall, selling handmade timeless wedding dresses and other wedding accessories. I particularly liked the flower bouquet made from a paper map - it was so unique and would look lovely for flower girls.

- Next was the cake stalls - yum yum! Which I smelled a mile away (though I didn't get to taste them!) -

The Red Cake Company - displayed some very elegant cake designs! The detail was exquisite, and the people on the stand were lovely too! For any brides wanting a traditional wedding, the Red Cake Company provided the perfect recipe! Check out more on the website: www.theredcakecompany.co.uk

Miss Lola's Bakehouse - Another company selling beautiful cakes, that took a completely different approach to the 'wedding cake'. Themed around flowers, their was a beautiful display of cakes - my favourite being the flowers that sweeped across the cake!

Candy Girls - A new enterprising idea, that seems popular for this years weddings, is to have a selection of 'sweet' goodies for the guests! Candy Girls had a truly irresistible selection of  sweeties in the shapes of tree's! They cater for a wide range of events, but as a 'sweet-a-holic' myself, I think every bride should hire some sweeties for their wedding!

Finally the highlight of the whole even was the Catwalk (obviously). Their were some irresistible dress designs, and a very distracting male model (that looked particularly handsome). I've left a few shots of the event below, so you can admire!

Finally, I got chance to check out the new Photo booth's, that have been a huge hit at weddings recently! They're great fun, so me and Emma-lee thought we'd test it out too!

Be my valentine?

Well, unfortunately for me, this years valentines (as most, since I was about 2) will be a night in. Accompanied by my favourite ginger cat, I'll be all tucked up in bed watching a heart throb movie, staring Channing Tatum and a giant box of chocolates!
Until my prince charming comes along *sighs*, it's not really a celebration day for me - more of a 'join in on the hate' day instead. Though I must say, it was nice to see my mom get a lovely bunch of flowers! And rather than waste the money on buying me an overpriced bunch, my parents opted to buy me this months issue of vogue (they know me too well!).

So whether your a Single-Pringle like me, or being over flown with roses, I thought I'd do my bit to say 'HAPPY VALENTINES DAY' from Blondie's Style Fix...

A little day trip to Shrewsbury...

Long time no speak!!!  This was supposed to be a weekend post - so I apologise in advance, but it's been difficult with the madness of the last few days! I've been off all round the Midlands over the weekend -  the highlight being a visit to Birmingham, leading the singing at the MFY (music for youth) Primary schools proms. The young children were so cute! 

On Saturday, I jumped on the train with Charlotte, for a lovely day, mooching through rails of charity and vintage shops in Shrewsbury! It's such a lovely town and despite being inefficiently dressed for the chilly weather, it was a lovely day...

I managed to find a vintage shop that sold satchels from THE CAMBRIDGE SATCHEL COMPANY (please someone buy me one!). I must have spent a good 10 minutes picking up the variety of satchels on display... this mustard colour was my favourite, as it's a little bit different from the 'typical' satchel.

We went passed a lovely florists in the town - the flowers put me in the mood for spring! I love looking at flowers, but I'm not so good at keeping them alive... any tips, please drop me a comment!!!! 

The highlight of my day, has to be finding 'Mollies Sweet Shop'... basically, it was candy heaven! I spoiled myself with a bag of sweeties from the pick-a-mix, and a slush puppy - which was probably a bit stupid, considering it was -2 outside!

Well, that's all! I'd definitely recommend a day trip to Shrewsbury - there's so much to do, and it's all so cute! I've got lots of posts planned, to catch up with you all over the weekend! I'll make sure I find time to get blogging (I'm having withdrawal symptoms!).
