Style Fix Saturday - The Leather Skirt

Hey there!
As part of my 'up-and-coming' blog, I'm starting a 'Style Fix Saturday'
It works like this....
I pick my favourite item of the day (most likely a high street bargain), and select a few ways to wear it, while you lucky devils get to read all about it!
So here's to my first Style Fix Saturday Blog - If you like it. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, Follow me - Its a promise that I always follow back X

The Leather Skirts have hit the runway for this Fall, and we can't wait!

So will some inspiration from the Catwalk, and other fashion designers, my hot pick today has to be the leather skirt! I've got two options for you (depending on that budget). The Designer Vs High Street - you'll be saving yourself a few hundreds, as most high street stores will have them on their rail racks! They're going to be the Falls biggest 'must have' - there's so many ways you can wear them!

I've taken the bargain £20.00 skirt from River Island... and lets just see what we can make out of it!

Out Fit Number 1 - Dinner Date X
Skirt £20.00 River Island, Blouse £36.00, Blazer £45.00 both Topshop,  Shoes £90 Schuh.
This First Choice is perfect for that evening out and dinner date. The beautifully detailed blouse gives the sense of elegance to the outfit, and pair with a Geo Ponte blazer for those chilly nights. I love these Schuh heals! You can always rely on Schuh for both beauty and comfort in their shoes - so for £90, you know you'll be getting your money's worth. You'll also have the guarantee to last the evening without finding the need to throw off your heals in fear of blisters! For accessories I'd keep it to a minimal, as you don't want to take away the focus from the beautiful cream blouse, with its detailed lace ruffles. This whole outfit compliments the leather style skirt perfectly, giving that sophisticated appeal to the attire.

Out Fit Number 2 - Day out with the girls X
Skirt River Island £20.00, Top Bank £18.00, Jacket  Miss Selfridge £35.00, Shoes £43.00 Converse.
If you out for a shopping spree, or just going round to a friends, then this outfit is perfectly styled for you. It has that effortless feeling to it, so you get all the compliments! Pairing Converse with skirts is usually risky, but the edgy effect the skirt creates, makes it actually compliment each other on those lazy days, when you need to throw together a combination. I also love the animal print peace top! Its got that careless feel, but with the skirt gives it some attitude. I've toned it down with this lovely textured jacket from Miss Selfridge, which is perfect to wear again and again! Its a strange skirt, as you associate flares with that 'girly girl look', but actually you've got the perfect blend here of girly and rocky... strange - but isn't everything in the world of fashion?

Out Fit Number 3 - Hitting the Night Club X
Skirt - River Island £20.00, Crop Top - Miss Selfridge £26.00, Shoes - £110.00 Truth or Dare Bag - Marc Jacobs £315.00
Okay, I think my heart just skipped a beat! I'm in love with these Nude Feline Courts from Truth or Dare by Madonna! They've got a beautiful line to them and will make your feet feel gorgeous too! I've pared up a scarf print crop top with the skirt, as it lets you show of your figure, without being 'too much' and doesn't look too contrasting. It's busy pattern also gives you a break from finding the accessories to match; as you can go with or without, for an outfit like this. Finally I've been cheeky and gone from a Marc Jacobs clutch - simply because it's beautiful! So if you feel like treating yourself, and splurging for a 'long term investment' then I'd snap one up now from Selfridge's! Or if your more like me... wait till the next sale, and go crazzzy!

So, it's fair to say I'm in love with AW12's styles. This Leather look being on of the many, coming straight from the catwalk! There's so many other ways you can wear this skirt, as it's got that flexibility, but it is a Saturday - and I have a weekly shopping trip to commit to!

I'm signing off now, so happy Saturday everyone!

Lots of Love,

Blondie X

  1. Love the leather skirt. I have a leather skater dress that I've yet to wear though so this is great inspiration.
