I simply remember my favourite things...

It's a "Long time no see" from me!

It's been nearly a month since my last post, so I hope you'll forgive me when I say I've been a little busy! Not only has college work, panto performances and dance exams taken over, but the course of wind and rain has stopped me from getting those precious moments outside (boo!).

For today's post, I thought I'd show you a few of my favourite accessories at the moment! Since my birthday in January, I've been using all my lovely new presents. However, nothing has topped off my vintage ring from mom and dad - it's a beauty!
I love receiving and trying new things, and it was quite a shock when I realised how well my friends knew me when opening my presents.

First on my list, is my little bottle of Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume! It's the perfect handbag size so ideal to take on a night out with the family. I also loved how it came with it's own refill bottle, so you can top up the bottle as you need. I love the whole Marc Jacobs collection (having sampled my friends rather obsessive haul).

Another little gem, that's been rather helpful in the colder months, is my fur headband! It's amazing for 3 reasons: It can conceal the worst bad hair days, it keeps my head warm, and it looks fab too. I brought as a Christmas present (yes, for myself) and it's definitely had it's full wear!

These lovely bottles of Barry M nail paint, were presents for my Birthday. My favourite has to be the metallic teal colour, as it's such a pretty colour, but I've recently liked the matted style of the blue bottle also! Priced around £3 a bottle, these will last me all year - so a great investment!

The Colours are: NP325 (blue) and NP334 (teal). 

This was also a birthday present, from New Look. I'm trying to wear it as much as possible, in hope it'll be a lucky elephant in my exams this year. In truth, I know those A grades aren't going to appear from no where, but hey ho. I loved the decorative touches to the pendent, and the long chain goes lovely with my dresses.

Finally, (and before you ask, no I'm not engaged) I had this beautiful ring from my parents, as a little "dude, your 18" present. It was a vintage engagement ring, purchased from a jewellers on Ebay, and it was sheer luck that it fit! I absolutely love the stone, which happens to be my birthstone Garnette! So although I wont be wearing this accessory piece everyday, it's by far my favourite piece!

The sun came out to say, hello...

It's my 100th post - hiphiphoray!
I am pleased to say to sun finally made a appearance yesterday!
The UK weather has been a real disappointment so far this year, but fingers crossed, things may be looking brighter! (and now I sound like something off the BBC weather report)... As I couldn't resist the opportunity to finally wear my new sunglasses, I grabbed my camera and a bottle of bubbles for today's outfit post!

Today's outfit, is a purchase from one of my recent high street hauls. I was slightly disappointed with the Top Shop sale! So, in desperation, I followed a few sale signs and drifted in and out of endless shops. I found this paisley dress is Warehouse. I wasn't keen on the shape to begin with, but it looked far better on and I fell in love with the pattern...and the price tag of £12 (whoops). I'm hoping to dress it up for collage and down for sunny days this spring, as it's so pretty!

My sun glasses were also a recent steal from Primark. Every girl needs a few pairs of fun glasses for summer and the cheep and cheerful price tag of £1, has got me hooked on them! Problem is my sister now has her eye's on them... oh no!

The bag was yet another thrifted purchase  I persuaded my sister to buy in a local charity shop. Lydia hates charity shops, so it was my way of showing her that you can find loads of in season accessories for half the price. This pastel blue satchel (a colour I'm obsessed with right now) was initially from TU at Tesco, but was only £3 in the charity shop - Bargain? I think so...

Like I said, this shoot consisted of me mainly blowing bubbles at my camera lens - NOT AS EASY AS IT LOOKS! Not only did my sister face get covered in bubbles (I may post a photo on twitter later - @blondiegrace), but I soon ran out of breath; so it's time I hit the gym! However, it was lots of fun! As I see it, I have a year and a half before I got to university to cram in lots of childish fun - though I doubt I will stop there..

In case you didn't notice, I've also finally got my hair cut.. (drama I know). I've never been a fan of hairdressers, I love styling my own hair and always feel no-one can ever do it, like I want it. However, my local hairdresser knows me well, and knows when I ask for a dramatic hair cut, I'm only asking for a trim! They also provide you with lots of UP-TO-DATE magazines to read; saving my poor piggy bank, and I love the hot chocolate machines - forget coffee shops, just go to the hairdresser and get a hair cut thrown in too! And as Forest Gump says 'that is all I have to say about that'...

Topshop Unique AW13 Live with Google+ #LFW

It's already Day 3 of London Fashion Week - Can you believe it?

So, I'm sure I wasn't the only one, who had their eye's glued to their computer screens, watching the TopShop AW13 Live streaming today! There was so many beautiful textures, from sequins to furs and beautiful 'subtle' clashing of your favourite shades.

It was so amazing to get the whole FROW experience, while sitting in my living room! They even had a 'models view' where the camera's were fitted especially into the models handbags!

There was a few particular designs that stood out for me...

My all time favourite was the finale piece, which was this stunning Sequin Jumpsuit. Every girl should want a piece like this for their AW13 wardrobe! I love the simple cut, with a splash of colour used for make-up, that complemented the whole look perfectly. 

Talking about the subtle colour clashes, really stood out for me with PINK ON PINK. It seem's us girls may finally have an excuse to look like our inner Barbie, and style it amazingly too! I just love this whole look, as the sheepskin fur gives the biker jacket a new twist. There's nothing better than looking good in Winter, but being warm with it! Again, the make-up, clashing with pale blue eye-shadow, actually works well to 'make a statement,' without being overpowering. 

This next look from the Unique show, really stood out as a classic piece from the collection. It reminded me of my day's in my Paddington bear red Wellington boots. How Topshop managed to consider to incredible rain fall in the UK when it designed such wear's is beyond me! The gorgeous patterns of the tunic, are also a great example of change this fall. Rather than contrast your whole outfit, you can concentrate on pairing subtle colour contrasts, to create this look. 

Finally, I fell in love with these two designs, of Fierce red, black and white combinations. To the Left, silk make a huge comeback, with a few pieces from the collection featuring 'pyjama style' jumpsuits, with matching scarf's. To the right, oversized coat's with panelling looks effortless, and paired up with Red ankle boots, is sure to be huge talk during Autumn!

Time to put on my Party shoes...

Before I rant on about today's post I've got a little announcment (well two - but hey ho).

Today's post is centred around the Panto 'After show party' I went to last night. It was a great chance to go shopping for a new dress, and slap on 'normal' make-up, rather than the bright blue eye shadow and red lipstick I'd been wearing during show week! I wanted a dress which would be used both day and night, and after hours of searching, this River Island dress ticked all the boxes! 

 I added a belt from Primark, to give a splash of colour. The great this about this dress, is the detailed pattern. It means you can get away with minimalistic accessories - which is always a plus when your dancing all night! I also put on my sturdy Clark's heels - mainly because I'm not the steadiest under the influence of alcohol!

My clutch was also a River Island purchase from the sale in January. I always go for simplistic clutches, as you can pair them up with everything - black, pink and creams are great colours! 

My sister, Lydia, also got all dressed up for the evening (which makes a change from her usual jeans and t-shirt!) Believe it or not, she is the younger sister... although she towers over me and most the time more mature as well! 

She went for a classic dress, from International - and I just love the colour! The pleat's on the skirt make this piece a dateless wardrobe item, and for the benefit of the photos, she stole my clutch!

Bringing out the Tartan Skirt...

It's me again! Another 'catch-up' post I'm afraid, as I've been so excited to show you my little Ebay steal...

But before, I bore you with my rambles, I know your all dying to know what I'm doing for my Art Exam this year... or not.

After consulting with my teacher, I've finally come to the conclusion of 'Wedding's' as my theme for this years exam. As a Wedding singer in church, I've watched a fair few weddings in the last 10 years and thought why not combine all my favourite aspects of the perfect wedding and my fashion instincts, into one project?
So there's my initial ideas, I'll let you know how it comes along!

My outfit today is centred around my Ebay Tartan skirt. It was irresistible, with 5 minutes remaining at no bid's at £4.50.... (it's no wonder I have no money!). So, to prove to my mom (and dad) that this time, my 'long term investment' was more than an auction splurge, I'm trying to wear it as much as possible!

What I'm wearing: Skirt and Bag - Ebay, Shirt - Vintage, Necklace - George at Asda, Cardigan and Boots - Primark.

It was worth every penny in my opinion, but that's up for you to judge! Anyone else a Ebay buyer, or selling?
I'm off now, as I can smell apple pie down stairs, and all this talk of weddings, has made me feel hungry!

The first fall of snow...

 "The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event."

 

YAY! A few weeks late, but the SNOW has finally arrived!
I've also had the last of my exams today, so the fun can really begin this weekend!
As our school let us out early this afternoon, me and my sister waisted no time to get out into the snow and put out hats and scarfs to good use...

 I took advantage of the snow to wear my New Look boots, with these great Over boot socks from River Island, that kept my feet EXTRA warm! These boots are great, as they have lots of grip and you can tighten them, to stop the snow getting in!

Another key piece in my winter wardrobe is this years coat from Dorothy Perkins. It's lasted me all winter, and definitely worth buying - as it's passed every coat quality test! My french style hat, has always had a place in my winter wardrobe (since I was about 6..) and keeps my hear cosy!

The Mad Dash Hair Bun; In less than 5 minutes. Sorted.

Sorry all for my late post today!
I've finally got my first Saturday job - working in a lovely cafe near my house! YAY!
Another thing to get excited about is my ADVENT CALENDER! It's the 1st of December, so it's time to get happy for Christmas :D

I can't say my work uniform was very exciting, (unless your an extreme fan of black and white...) so I thought I'd share with you my hair bun techniques, to get a big glossy bun in less than 5 minutes! I usually opt for a messy bun, but this time I felt like a change, and glad of it too!

I also got my first BLOG COMPETITION WIN, thanks to Canned Fashion! I'm not usually successful, when it comes to competition's, so was really happy to hear I'd finally won something :D
