'It's beginning to look a lot like... M&Co Christmas Party Collection'

Hello! It's another week closer on my Christmas countdown (sad I know)! Only 6 weeks left till the festivities really begin and in celebration of their new Party range, M&Co contacted me to let me know about they're recent blogger challenge to style a piece from the new Party wear collection. With the chance of winning £75 in vouchers, and my keen eye for something a bit sparkly this year, it didn't take me long to choose a favourite from the collection...
Pricing the Outfit:
Sequin Dress - M&Co - £99, Fur Jacket - M&Co - £79, Stiletto Heels - House of Fraser - £70, Black Clutch - M&Co - £15, Necklace - M&Co - £8

The dress chosen to style from the collection, was a 1920's style embroidered shift dress. If you watched the film 'The Great Gatsby' this summer, you'll understand why the 1920's have been so influential in fashion over the past few months. If you didn't (though I strongly recommend it as a Saturday night in treat) then let me explain how I was inspired myself, by the beautiful 20's, in selecting an outfit from the M&Co collection. First off the 20's were all about the dancing, and being a passionate dancer myself, this dress looked both practical (for dancing) but stunning with all it's embroidery too! If there's one thing accepted only at Christmas - it's dancing with two left feet - and I felt this dress would really let you go wild with the Charleston...The 20's were also about the contrast of dark and light, so this dress fit perfectly with its deep purples and gold sequins.

I've styled this dress with an M&Co silver lined, black clutch, which is perfect for carrying along the essentials. I also chose a black fir coat - also from M&Co - for keeping warm on winter evenings. Fur coat's were also a popular choice during the 1920's, so I felt it was very fitting with my initial inspiration for the outfit! Finally I chose a pair of Aldo Stiletto Court Heels, from House of Fraser, as they added the feminine touch to the outfit and a lovely long necklace from M&Co's jewellery collection!

If you fancy styling your own outfit, in a bid to win a lovely treat of £75 in vouchers, head over to the M&Co blog: http://blog.mandco.com/2013/10/29/blogger-challenge-style-a-christmas-party-dress/#.UoEspid8sxx

That's all for today's rambles! I hope I've given you some inspiration for your own Christmas Outfits... Let me know what you think!

V Festival 2013 (day 2) - Festival Style...

Hello,

If you saw yesterday's post, you'll know I'm currently catching up on my highlights from last weekends V Festival at Western Park. It was such a fab weekend, so I thought I'd share a few photos of the real festival style - rather than just a glossy magazine of VIP's who are no way getting the true festival experience...

Today's post is day 2 of the V Festival, and the sun was shinning - so there were lots of photo opportunities! I decided to get a bit creative with the Neon UV paint, which got a bit messy (note to self - let the paint dry!) and obviously the festival framed sunnies were out for the occasion...

For day 2, I chose to wear a pink bandeau from Republic (or whatever it's called now) and a white crochet top, which I brought from a little Spanish market while I was on holiday. Seeing as the floral head crowns have been a huge hit at this years festivals, I wore a cream headband from Primark - It was really comfy and helped tame my festival (a.k.a very wild) hair!

I stuck to my cutie wellies from Joules, but opted for a biscuit pair of knee high socks, and my Top Shop hot pants (tee hee) to complete my look! On a personal note, I was glad I took my jacket as it gets colder in the evenings, but once your in the crowds, it's so warm I felt like I was on a tropical Island!

What I'm Wearing: Bandeau - Republic, Top - Spanish Market, Shorts - Top Shop, Wellies - Joules, Socks - River Island, Sun Glasses/Headband - Primark.

Best part of festivals is the way everyone expresses themselves through how they dress - even the wellies you wear show your personality!
For example my lovely friend Lauren, is such a girly girl, and with her Pink Wellies (below) you isn't afraid to show it.
Emily (above, left) dared to go wild with fringed crop top with her animal print rain Mac, and a lovely floral headband - which looked fab!
And Charlotte (above, right) also dared to try double denim: shorts and jacket, which she carried off effortlessly!

Jessie J is such an inspiration, she was amazing and really got the crowd going - I wouldn't want to be hated by her though, her new song It's My Party, is fab, but her haters are really getting an earful! Mwhaahha! I'm going to see her in October on her tour, and she'll be fab - as always!

So best part of the whole weekend (wait for it)... WAS BEYONCE! After wainting for nearly 8 hours, of standing up and with nothing more than a sausage roll to keep my going, She finally graced the stage! She was amazing, and it's fair to say she's the biggest DIVA ever! She sang some of the favourites: Single Ladies (yes my hand was up), Love on top, and yeah, it was fab! As you can see, we were about 5 rows back, and I'd have never got a place like that If I'd have ordered tickets for her tour, so I was very chuffed with myself!

So that's all from me, I've got lots of packing to do, as I'm off (again) on a little family break!

Let me know if you've been to any festivals this year, I'd love to hear about them!

Lots of Love,

'To love and to cherish'...The National Wedding Show NEC 2013...

First off  - Make sure you enter my giveaway I'm running!

I have a special post lined up for you today, following my little visit to the National Wedding Show at the NEC yesterday, accompanied by the lovely friend/photographer - Emma-lee. (she's on twitter: @cakemixture)

For those of you who read my blog regularly will know I'm currently study Weddings as part of my Art project's, and I was keen to seek inspiration for my own designs. I had a chat with a few readers and you suggested I attend the event to give you my own little summary of the event and let you know, this seasons' must have's for your wedding!

Number one of my list was the vintage section (well you know me). I fell in love with a few particular Vintage stalls...

Memories of Vintage - was a lovely company who supply vintage crockery hire! I fell in love with the whole composition of the stall, and for anyone looking to have a vintage style wedding/party event, I strongly suggest you check out their website and see for yourself, what they offer: www.memoriesofvintage.co.uk

Timeless Couture - Another beautifully presented stall, selling handmade timeless wedding dresses and other wedding accessories. I particularly liked the flower bouquet made from a paper map - it was so unique and would look lovely for flower girls.

- Next was the cake stalls - yum yum! Which I smelled a mile away (though I didn't get to taste them!) -

The Red Cake Company - displayed some very elegant cake designs! The detail was exquisite, and the people on the stand were lovely too! For any brides wanting a traditional wedding, the Red Cake Company provided the perfect recipe! Check out more on the website: www.theredcakecompany.co.uk

Miss Lola's Bakehouse - Another company selling beautiful cakes, that took a completely different approach to the 'wedding cake'. Themed around flowers, their was a beautiful display of cakes - my favourite being the flowers that sweeped across the cake!

Candy Girls - A new enterprising idea, that seems popular for this years weddings, is to have a selection of 'sweet' goodies for the guests! Candy Girls had a truly irresistible selection of  sweeties in the shapes of tree's! They cater for a wide range of events, but as a 'sweet-a-holic' myself, I think every bride should hire some sweeties for their wedding!

Finally the highlight of the whole even was the Catwalk (obviously). Their were some irresistible dress designs, and a very distracting male model (that looked particularly handsome). I've left a few shots of the event below, so you can admire!

Finally, I got chance to check out the new Photo booth's, that have been a huge hit at weddings recently! They're great fun, so me and Emma-lee thought we'd test it out too!
Check out www.picture-booth.co.uk to learn more!
And even better we got a goody bag  from The National Wedding Show to take home - which put the cherry on top of a lovely day!

Well that's all from me! I just wan't to say a big, thank you to The National Wedding Show, for organising such a great event, and letting me come along and enjoy the day! If you're a 'bride to be' and want some inspiration for your special day, head over to the Website to get your tickets for next year: http://www.nationalweddingshow.co.uk/

Time to put on my Party shoes...

Hope you've all been having a lovely weekend!
Before I rant on about today's post I've got a little announcment (well two - but hey ho).
First, 'Blondies Style Fix' is reaching out to Facebook! For those of you that find it easier to follow on a social network, please hit 'like' as it would be so great to get some support! If you drop me a comment, I'd be happy to 'like' your pages too!
Secondly, I'm so excited to tell you all I'll be hosting my first giveaway very soon! I'm so close to reaching 200 followers of GFC, (which was far more than I ever expected) so please show your support and I'll get organising something special for you all...

Today's post is centred around the Panto 'After show party' I went to last night. It was a great chance to go shopping for a new dress, and slap on 'normal' make-up, rather than the bright blue eye shadow and red lipstick I'd been wearing during show week! I wanted a dress which would be used both day and night, and after hours of searching, this River Island dress ticked all the boxes!

I added a belt from Primark, to give a splash of colour. The great this about this dress, is the detailed pattern. It means you can get away with minimalistic accessories - which is always a plus when your dancing all night! I also put on my sturdy Clark's heels - mainly because I'm not the steadiest under the influence of alcohol!

My clutch was also a River Island purchase from the sale in January. I always go for simplistic clutches, as you can pair them up with everything - black, pink and creams are great colours!

My sister, Lydia, also got all dressed up for the evening (which makes a change from her usual jeans and t-shirt!) Believe it or not, she is the younger sister... although she towers over me and most the time more mature as well!

She went for a classic dress, from International - and I just love the colour! The pleat's on the skirt make this piece a dateless wardrobe item, and for the benefit of the photos, she stole my clutch

What I'm Wearing - Dress and clutch - River Island, Belt - Primark.
What Lydia's Wearing - Dress - International, Shoes - New Look, Bracelets - Top Shop

Well, that's all from me today. I can smell another Sunday dinner downstairs (there's nothing like your mothers cooking!).
Has anyone else been doing anything nice the last few days? Enjoy the rest of your weekends!
Lots of Love,

Will it be Trick Or Treat?

Well, Halloween is coming up and I've had plenty of inspiration for my Party outfit.
Unlike my 14 year old sister, who has decided to go as a 'Cow' to her Halloween Party?

If you are more like my sister, then this post is for you.
I've noised every online shop, for some great 'daily' outfits with a spooky twist and I've got a few simple ideas for you too, to make your costume ideas better than a 'farmyard animal'!

Before I bore you to death (excuse the pun there) I'm on a raid for new followers, so if your a newbie to Blondies Style Fix, please add me to your followers, and I'll be happy to return!
Here's some of my favourite picks from the High Street, which give that 'spooky' feel to your outfits!
Leggings: £15 New Look, Lace Top: £25 River Island, Collar Top: £32 Top Shop, Fur Gilet: £55 Dorothy Perkins, Skirt: £46 Top Shop.

As for some inspirational ideas, that beat the 'slutty bunny,' 'dead school girl,' or 'white sheet ghost'!
