Get those make-up wipes out for a #nomakeupselfie...

 Hello!
My four day weekend has been a lovely luxury this week. I've been an angel daughter and spring-cleaned the house, acted host for ten of my favourite girlies (cooking pizza at 4am) and broken my 'heathly eating' proposal for an Indian curry last night... However today's post is a little break from the chaos to tell you a little bit about some great fund raising...

As you've all probably seen the #nomakeupselfie campaign has taken the world of Social Media by storm. Girls all around the UK (and further afield) have been ditching the makeup, to make the bold move of taking an 'au natural selfie' in aid of Cancer Research UK. In the space of a week, an additional £2 million has been raised through the campaign, which is a huge achievement - and it's ever growing.

As I've already published my selfie to Facebook, I thought I'd also post it here!
I myself have seen loved ones fight cancer, and as the battle continues, I always stay positive that organisations like Cancer Research UK take the small steps to help beat it.
I'm hoping to encourage you all to participate, whether it's on Facebook or your own blog - to get spreading the word...

What's great about this campaign is it's unexpected popularity! I always feel great doing something for charity, and by removing the makeup, so many people have felt that in itself is an achievement and worth raising money for! It takes a few seconds to get that early morning selfie before the make-up is applied, and would be amazing to see that £2 million increase even further!

To take part, all you have to do is post your own #nomakeupselfie to facebook/twitter/blog and make a donation to Cancer Research UK, either online at: http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/, or by texting BEAT to 70007 to donate £3.

Let me know if you decide to take your own selfie, please let me know, and drop me a link if you post it to your blog too. Lets fight Cancer together!

how to turn pale skin - tanned (without being a tangerine...)

In case the title didn't give you a big enough hint, today's post is quite simply my attempts to turn my pale skin to a moderate tan (well for me anyway...).

If your pale skinned, you'll know most fake tans (etc) have a probability of making you go a lovely orange colour - and personally that's not my ideal look. After years, and I mean years, of caking myself in the wrong colours, I've finally found the first signs of hope - thanks to Dove.

Dove's tinted moisturiser is a real gem, you can apply it gradually over a few days, just like moisturiser and it gives you a fresh and smooth covering of gradual tan. It's my secret weapon during summer months, and stays on in water - so no horror swimming pool moments! I also use mine with a Vaseline essential moisturiser, which is great to keep your skin soft and silky!
Dove tinted moisturiser, is currently around £4.99 in most stores, but you can get a bottle from Boots for half price at £2.50, so its not a major problem if you decide it's not for your skin!

A few Tips when buying fake tan for Pale Skin:
  1. Always make sure you check the colour range (e.g. don't get a product that says it's for dark skin).
  2. Test it first on a small section of your skin, to see if your happy with the colour, before you cover yourself in it!
  3. Don't just stick to one style of fake tan. It's good to use other methods of applying a tan, like spray bottles!
  4. ENJOY FINALLY HAVING A TAN!

Well that's all from me, I've got lots of school work (boring) to get on with...

What a Sweetie Pie... Spring Pastel Nails X

Since my last post, I've been locked in my room revising (like most kiddo's my age).
So, I decided to do a 'see how long I can revise while painting my nails' experiment. In an attempt to paint my nails while revising, I managed  to get polish everywhere - including my textbooks...
It was a mission failed.

Still, it finally gave me something to post about! After a little shopping trip over the weekend, I've stocked up in pastel shades of nail paint, ready for the Spring - yay!

It's a huge trend at the moment to mix and match pastel shades! For those of you (like myself) who struggle to last 5 minutes without smudging nails, it's a great way to let your nails dry while your using different polishes!

Spring 2013 pastel nail paint, barrry M / Avon The nail polishes I've used are:

1. Avon Speed Dry in pastel green.
2. Barry M Nail Paint in baby pink.
3. Avon nailwear pro in light blue.

Barry M is one of my favourite brands for nail polish, followed closely by Avon. The colours in both collections always look lovely, and look the same colour when painted on, as the bottle (which makes a change!).

Are you feeling the Spring yet? Its difficult considering its around 2°C outside! Still, we can work around that factor...

That's all from me!

Betrousse Beauty Kits Review...

I hope you've all enjoyed your weekends!
Today's post is a review of a beauty box I was sent from the lovely people at Betrousse. Betrousse is a French company, currently reaching out to the UK, selling monthly beauty kit's!
For girlies who love a surprise when it comes to beauty treats, Betrousse is the perfect treat for you! (oh and did I mention its FRENCH)...

The latest box out is the 'Glitz and Glamour' kit. The kit is now £10*, with around £70 worth of full sized beauty products, and loads of advice on how to make the most of your treats!
I was so excited by the beautiful wrapping when I saw my package on my doorstep! I love a company that goes to the extent of making their products beautiful in it's packaging...
Because Betrousse mainly supplies it's service in France currently, a lot of it's products are made in France too. It was so exciting to use brands that haven't properly been introduced into the UK yet, and were full sized products - so you can use them again and again!

The products included in the beauty kit were:
1. Mango and Sun flower Body Moisturiser - usually £3.99
2. Tulecos tonifying oil - usually £33.00
3. Jason Hair Shampoo - usually £7.29
4. Benta Berry ex foliating facial cleanser - usually £14.00
5. Make Believe enhance shimmer lip gloss - usually £10.00
My favourite item was the tonifying oil, as I've never used anything like it before - the instructions were really helpful. Also the shimmer lip gloss is my newest addition to my handbag essentials

I've sampled a few beauty box's and sometimes feel you don't get your moneys worth with the products. However, not only do Betrouse provide full sized products, they also provide you with products suited to your skin condition etc. What more can a girl ask for?
Have you tried the Betrousse Beauty Kits? - let me know!

That's all from me!
Hope your all making the most of the mid-march snow - crazy I know! Who's been snowed in?
Lots of Love,

Big girls really are Beautiful - and there's someone that will prove it?!?!

I've been catching up of my 'beauty' knowledge - which I must admit, isn't great.

I'm not a fan of fake tan. I only wear foundation when I'm 'going out'. And the amount of mascara I war, usually is less than noticeable!

So, when I came across an article about Body shapes, I was more than inspired by a girl called Stella Boonshoft, on her blog 'THE BODY LOVE BLOG', where she writes about how she's happy with the body she had - and embraces it too! If you have a few minutes - check it out - it really was inspiring! I've selected a few photos for you also, from her blog, that would inspire anyone.
I'm all for 'living life to the full' and my group of friends are just the same - hence the bouncy castle for Charlotte's 16th birthday - the fun never ends!

House of Fraser - Competition Entry X

Blondie's at it again...I couldn't resist this competition when House of Fraser contacted me about it!

Their branding is so unique and give a feel of luxury! I love a good window shop in their nearest store and have already brought many beautiful items for my Autumn wardrobe, this year! So when I was contacted about this up coming competition, I was struck with choice of choosing the perfect outfit - that in itself was a challenge, as I had a list of around 15...

~September Early Morning Secret's~

HOLA CHICAS!
It's fair to say every person in England is trying to ignore the obvious signs that September is lingering in the distance. There are three reasons for this. You go back to school/collage/work starts back up in 'full swing'. You are also confronted with a pile of 'summer' added weight, you now need to loose. And finally, the early starts with darker mornings begins! I've just entered a beauty competition, all about 'your secret's to getting the best start in the morning' and I thought I'd share mine with all your lucky readers. So SHUSH!
