WHAT I WORE 2013...

Hello, I hope you've all had a lovely Christmas holiday!
As new year approaches, I've put together a little 'what I wore' 2013, featuring some of my favourite outfits from this year. At the start of this year, my blog was solely personal style, but as I look back I'm so happy with the way it's developed over the last year and I hope you've been able to see a bit of the real me. As ever I've loved writing my blog this year, and have literally shared my experiences wherever I went - including my visits to Paris, and London.

In January, I brought this lovely paisley dress with my birthday money, from River Island. I've worn it all year, as its so easy to wear for all occasions. Here, I wore the dress for a new year's celebration, with my Clark's heels - those kept me dancing all evening! In February, I received a lovely necklace from Little Birdie jewellery emporium. I wore it in an outfit post with my vibrant coloured flamingo jumper. I loved this outfit as it was super comfy, as I love to find an excuse to wear my Top Shop jeans. In March, I put together a little 'smart' outfit, that I liked wearing to sixth form. The blazer was an old H&M favourite that I've had in my wardrobe for years, and I brought the pencil skirt was from Dorothy Perkins.

April brought the first glimpse of spring, and with it my lovely floral Kath Kidston style tea dress. I loved this outfit as it's a lovely denim colour, and was easy to dress down for a day out with friends. I wore it with a cardigan from Next, which is also another wardrobe favourite of mine! In May, the sun was shinning so I wore a festival inspired outfit. I loved the Matalan shorts and wore them with a crop top from New Look and Primark jacket. For June, (which I missed a month due to exams) I've selected a photo from my visit to Paris in the Summer - I loved my double denim combination!

July was a crazy month, but I've chosen my little dress I wore on holiday as one of my favourite outfit posts! The dress was from Primark, and was definitely one of my summer essentials. In August, I attended V Festival for the first time, and with that my complete festival outfit. My New Look top complimented my vibrant orange River Island shorts. I also loved my Joules wellies, which had details of cute doggies on! As I started a new school year, I went for a cheeky day trip to London. I wore an cobalt blue skirt with OASAP denim jacket and Clark's boots.

From October, the sun disappeared, but I was still holding on to the summer floral in another 'smart' work wear post. I wore a Dorothy Perkins dress with a H&M green blazer. In November, I attended the Clothes Show Live, with press pass in hand and my lovely friend Emma-lee to keep me company. I wore a tartan dress from New Look, with a satchel from OASAP and my super comfy Clark's boots. Finally December saw my festive Rudolph jumper, which I wore for the majority of the month (whoops) - though can you blame me?

So there's my favourites of 2013, my favourite was probably November, because I loved wearing the felt hat. Keep your eyes peeled for a few posts later this week!

OOTD; Florals in Autumn..

Hello, it's been a quite half term for me so far, however my excitement for HARRY POTTER STUDIOS next week cannot be contained!
Today's post is a little outfit I put together for 6th form, but thought I'd share it with you anyhow. I recently brought a floral dress (yes in Autumn!) from Dorothy Perkins, for an Autumn wedding I was singing for, however I've formed an attachment with its beautiful colours!

I wore the dress with a green blazer from H&M, which really brought out the autumn colours of deep purple in the dress and one of my many pairs of brogues! The dress comes in several styles and patterns, and is so comfortable to wear. This dress was around £18, which I think was a great price considering the amount of wear I've had out of it!

What I'm Wearing: Dress - Dorothy Perkins, Blazer - H&M, Brogues - Clarks, Necklace - Top Shop, Belt - Primark.

Well that's all from me for now, might put a sneaky halloween post up later!

Living like Royalty, Buckingham Palace...

Hello! So apart from being swallowed up by collage work in the last week, I took the chance to join a coach load of friends on an annual visit to London!

For the trip, I wore my super comfy new boots from Clarks! It really pays of to have a great quality pair of shoes when your walking all day, and my boots didn't let me down! As we seem to have finally lost the summer sunshine, I opted for a denim jacket with my new tartan skirt to keep me warm and some thick socks too!
I love London (but then again, who doesn't) and this time we planned a picnic in the park, to visit a few art gallery's for my art coursework and an all important trip to Buckingham palace. Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to use my camera in the palace (boo) but it was definitely worth the visit, as the state rooms are truly beautiful! It's hard not to be drawn into the golden magnificence of the palace with the decorative crystal chandeliers hanging overhead and I have to admit the audio guide background music even had me waving like a queen...
The history of the British monarchy is fascinating, and this is clearly a strong influence in the rooms open for public viewing, and the family portraits on show tell the story of generations of royals.
I'd also recommend checking out the gardens and the all important gift shop - though I wasn't keen on the £10 pens.. When you arrive at the palace, there's lots of air port style security before your handed an audio guide, which you use through most of the rooms, it's also handy to know that if you accidentally loose your place on the audio guide each room has numbers which you can type in to refresh your guide. We were also treated to a fab view of the 'changing of the guards' along with hundreds of others hoping to see the parade. It's fab to see the guards in there swanky red uniforms and made me quite envious of their epic sense of rhythm!

As you already know my love of history is touch obsession, so I also visited the Imperial War Museum which although under construction, was fab! I'd strongly recommend the Holocaust exhibition and the Horrible History Spies area looks great too. One thing I would recommend is bringing your own food as museum cafe's are never cheap and getting the tube rather than warning as it's situated quite a way from the buzz of Westminster.

As for the rest of the day we caught a quick tube ride to Oxford Street, as every London trip requires a small dosage of shopping! We found a gem of a place to eat called 'st. Christopher's place' which was a little area just off Oxford Street which had loads of little eateries and boutique shops. I'd definitely recommend visiting during a intense shopping trip as it's not far from Oxford Street. After a gentle stroke through the designer handbags in Selfridges, we were soon back in the bus wishing we could have stayed a bit longer!

What Were Wearing:

Charlotte (left): Skirt/Boots - Top Shop, Jumper -
Miss Selfridge.
Myself (left in right photo): Jacket/Satchel - OASAP, Boots - Clarks, Skirt - Primark.
Lydia (right, in second photo down): Jeans - Primark, Military Jacket - H&M.
Sarah (middle in above photo): Playsuit - New Look, Shoes - Dorothy Perkins.

So that's how I've been spending the weekend. If only every weekend was exciting, as my usually Saturdays consist of piles of homework and plodding around the house in pyjamas!

Anybody else do anything interesting with their weekend?

Lots of Love,

Happy Halloween!

BOO!
Well, unlucky for some, I'm back to school today. This really sucks, because it's Halloween. So instead of emptying my neighbour's cuboards of sweets and dressing up in my cat costume, I'm cracking down to more homework...
Still, I was excited to see what Halloween inspired outfits Celebrity's have been flashing on the Catwalk this year!

Before I yabber on, can I just put in this little note to show my heart goes out to our friends in USA who've been affected by Hurricane Sandy! <3
My little Halloween treat. So I haven't done anything for Halloween, but I couldn't resist helping my sister to carve her pumpkin! Please excuse the lack of imagination in our pumpkin - I didn't get much said over my smelly sister, who liked it 'just the way it was!'

Guest Shoot #1 - An Autumn's Day

Hiiii there!
I hope you've been enjoying your weekend!
Tonight I'm having a lovely night in with my momma watching some Saturday night TV!
However, I may be in bed, before I get chance to watch the end of X factor! Yesterday I was up till all hours catching up with my girlies. We ate our weight in chocolate, watched every Rom-Com ever released and looked back at some very ancient photos (cringe) of ourselves!
As my Half term is coming to an end, I'm afraid reality has to set in... that I still have a pile of homework, and shortly my 'daily' blog posts, will turn into 'weekly' 'if I'm not busy' posts :'(
But, before I swap my Camera and Laptop for Pen and Paper, I've got a last few days of blogging to cram in for you!
As part of my new idea of 'Guest Shoots,' I've finally persuaded - more like bribed - my friend Charlotte (pictured above on the left) to have a shoot. This is my first attempt, but I hope to make this a regular thing! It was great fun - mainly because we re-discovered our childhood love of Autumn. Especially, the many dried leaves that cover the ground - which are also great fun to throw at each other! So here's our lovely shoot! (please let me know what you think!!!!) X

How Blondie Spent Her Saturday X

Well I bet your thinking 'so where was this weekend's shopping trips?'
No, no, I did something even more productive this Saturday (believe it or not!)
I've been on my first visit to York University for a lecture for History, on 'General Haig, World War 1' by Gary Sheffield. After initial remorse for the long 3 hour journey. It was great!

I just love history, and with an hour to spend scouring the shops I was happy enough with the days visit. Touching up on my History knowledge, and my 'wish list' wardrobe too!

I just love the Cathedral in York! Perfect day for a spot of shopping first! <3

Here's me and two of the girlies! from Left; Georgia, Katie, MEEEEEEEE!

Winter Woollies and Cosy Coats X

So It's been another hectic week in my household.
Now, I could complain to you about how tired I am, or how I still have a pile of homework to catchup on, or that I've willingly volunteered to give up my Saturday to go on an 'all day visit' to York University, for a History Lecture...... No....... Because that would be incredibly dull.

Instead in the search for my perfect AW12 Coat, and some equally snuggly woollies to make a shopping trip worthwhile. So thanks to the Internet and online shopping (MY HEAVEN!) I've found a a few pieces, I may have fallen in love with!

The Latest 'Primarni' Purchase.

So I went on a splurge last week, and currently very proud of my latest Primark purchase (best buy ever!).
Since last Saturday, I was so proud of how much money I came home with after my day trip, that I've managed to spend nearly every penny... Whoops!
Still, It's the first day of autumn today - so I see these beauty's as a good personal investment!

Marks and Spencer Vintage Dress Competition X

Happy Saturday! I'm happy to say I've been topping up on my shopping baskets today!

I was contacted in the early week by M&S, telling me about a Vintage dress competition that they were holding. And ITS BEEN SO HARD JUST TRYING TO CHOOSE A DRESS! If you want more details check out: The Marks and Spencer Blog Page, but I'll let you know my mission in a moment's time! First, I'd like to thanks M&S for this lovely competition, and point out my vintage dress choice, was actually from M&S, (may I add, from a very old collection) which has many personal stories - which obviously I'll end up telling! ahaha! AW12 Accessories! X

Hey Everyone!

Sorry, Post's are going to be slow during the weekdays - I shall pre-warn you of that now! I had my third day of 6th form today - and the 'heals every day' mission failed.

Thanks for all your help with the 'outfit' crisis, by the way! There's nothing like a good sensible pair of flat pumps! So the work load has already started and I'm currently juggling: writing my blog, writing my 'harvest festival artical' for my local Church magazine and frantically jotting down notes on cell structures for biology... But then that's the fun of A levels!

So in-between the frantic mess of my 'back to school' schedules, I've managed to pull out a few 'KEY PIECES' for your Autumn 2012 wardrobe. Her's just a sneak peak of what the great British high street has to offer you!

~September Early Morning Secret's~

HOLA CHICAS!
It's fair to say every person in England is trying to ignore the obvious signs that September is lingering in the distance. There are three reasons for this. You go back to school/collage/work starts back up in 'full swing'. You are also confronted with a pile of 'summer' added weight, you now need to loose. And finally, the early starts with darker mornings begins! I've just entered a beauty competition, all about 'your secret's to getting the best start in the morning' and I thought I'd share mine with all your lucky readers. So SHUSH!

Autumn Trends - Office to Casual X

Hey to all my fashionista's out there -  Blondiee here,

Seeing the British summer has been so terrible, (like everyone else) I'm already looking ahead to the autumn fashions. I'm starting 6th form (a.k.a College) in September, so I've been really inspired by the tailored looks, simply because that's all I've been buying. Every coloured blazer - you name it, I've got it. I must say, I'm really impressed by the autumn trends this year - their so original and fresh, it makes the thought of the coming winter, less agonising.

First Blog Post...

Well, cheer's to my first blog.

I'm new to the blogging world, but thought it was about time my interest in fashion, photography and style, were shared with the wonderful people of the blogging universe. I hope you're all enjoying your summer - although in UK it hasn't been much of a summer (if you ask me!). I've noticed my summer shorts haven't left the wardrobe - unless pared with black tights. I like this look, and it's also saved me a bomb in fake tan - seeing as I'm 'a white rose' when it comes to tanning.
