I'm Back, and Blonder as Ever...

Hello!
In case you've forgotten me, I'm still Grace, and after a long break I'm back with my same blonde head to comment on the world of fashion, my own style choices, and what the adventures I get up to.
During the last few months, I have been cramming revision for my final A Level exams. Part of my commitment was to put hobbies like blogging to one side, in the hope that it would allow me to remain focused (that and eat my weight in chocolate spread for "revision purposes").

Finally summer has arrived and I'm freeeeee (she says while being dumped with a massive pile of ironing), so my intentions are to restart the blog! I'll be giving you the low down on the bits you missed between exams, and hopefully record one fabulously stylish summer with you all, as I take on my last ever summer before I head off to University.

So a few things that I've been up to include...
A final school trip with my music school to Belgium!
- This was one of the most inspirational visits, as the opportunity to sing in the Ypres at the Menin Gate Ceremony in this 100 years since the first battle, was both emotional but also rewarding in every way to see the impact it had on ourselves but also those attending.
My school Prom!
- Yep that's right, after 7 years of hard work the school leavers ball was the perfect arrangement to celebrate the end of school. I had a lovely evening with my closest friends, who all looked like princesses!
I got a fit?!
- A harder one to believe, but after a few months of tedious weight control and intese gym sessions, I've finally slimmed down to bikini body weight (and just in time for my summer holiday)! It's been incredibly hard, but I'm now a converted gym freak - horrah!
Last Days of School!
- In the last few days left of school, I cherished the moments by putting on my school uniform for one last time, taking ridiculous selfies and enjoying the summer concert with some great musicians I have met over the years.
So that's all for me,  hopefullly it wont take me long to get back into blogging away my spare time this summer. So keep watch!

Lots of Love,

Grace X

A HOME BIRD...

Hello!
I hope you've all been keeping up on London Fashion Week these last few days. I didn't attend this year, as I've been pounded by lengthy essays and revision (maybe next time -ey?). But I have been anticipating the catwalks online from the comfort of my desk! One of my favourite collection's from LFW was the Topshop Unique catwalk! I really loved the dark green and blue combinations.

Today's outfit post, features a few things I was kindly donated by a friend (which still had the tags on!). I went a little country girl with colours, and wore my denim skirt, with a burgundy jumper and shoes, and my grey woolly tights to keep me warm! It's not exactly an 'on trend' choice, but I'm still opting for warmth at the moment.

My denim skirt was a gift from a friend, from Primark. Denim is a little dated, but I thought I'd bring in back, as the skirt complemented the outfit. Another old favourite, my jumper was from the men's collection at Primark, and is not too thick so is easy to tuck into shorts or a skirt. For extra warmth I added my little Topshop blouse, which is always handy if you want a collar to show over a jumper. I also have a little obsession with my grey tights... They have been so warm on winter days, and definitely an essential in my wardrobe recently!
Another present gifted by the fab friends, were these Topshop shoes - which I'd had my eye on for ages! I'm currently wearing them in, with hopes to get them out throughout spring, as they'll look great with some frilly socks and pastel hues.
Lastly, I kept my 'bad hair day' at bay, by wearing my favourite felt hat, which is another favourite on windy days!

What I Wore: Jumper, Skirt - Primark, Tights - New Look, Shoes, Shirt - Top Shop, Hat - Oasap.

Well that's all from me, I'm off to rest up ready for my visit to Bristol tomorrow! I adore the city, and this is my chance to see the University before I decide on my offers. So if you live in the city, and see a blonde looking rather confused (map upside down, etc..) do not hesitate to point me in the right direction (for a nearest coffee shop that is..)

Lots of Love,

Hello Oxford! The city of old buildings, bicycles and very clever people...

Happy Sunday! I haven't blogged in a while and I thought it was about time I explained myself. I've been on and off trains the last few days, as I spent a few days in the beautiful city of Oxford!

I was offered a chance to attend a study day at Oxford along with a friend (Emma) - which was an offer I wasn't likely to turn down! As I'm still fairly indecisive about the 'what I want to be when I'm grown up' question, I thought it would be a great opportunity to see what studying at university is really like! Aside the hours of shopping, photographing buildings and buying cakes in every coffee shop, I really enjoyed learning more about the university and the courses it offers!

While I was there, I decided to give my £10 Primark boots a test of ware - and was pleasantly surprised to see I had escaped any blisters! Thank you Primark!

As I had my camera hung around my neck, I thought I'd share with you a few shots of the two days visit! If you've ever been/lived in Oxford, then you'll understand why it's so easy to fall in love with. It's unlikely my little brain is enough to attend the university, but it was definitely worth the visit!

As you can see, no bike - no getting around the city! After the two day's my feet killed from all the walking! For that reason, I can't really say it was my most 'fashion worthy' outfit choices - simply because I was carrying everything on my back!

Here we are standing in the library quarters, I loved Emma's colourful jeans - practical and ready for Spring! Behind us is one of the many tours that a free to tag onto, around the city.
The tour guides really know their stuff!

Our accommodation for the night was provided by Wadham Collage - which was beautiful! I managed to find the university outfitters, to buy myself some memorabilia and loved the endless Oxfam charity shops!

Well there you have it! A few days of heaven in comparison to the coursework and revision I have scheduled for the next few weeks!

If you ever get the chance to visit Oxford - GO! It doesn't disappoint!

Call the Midwife is back! Let the 1950's return!

Vintage is a huge part of my life! And with the latest season of Call the Midwife starting on Sunday, it's all I've been thinking about recently!
Vintage is a way for us 'modern girls and boys' to dream of the lovely 'old day's,' our grandparents speak of so much...
The day's of ball's and dancing, of music and laughter and the incredibly styled clothes, that were designed for comfort, rather than how much skin you can flash!

Call the Midwife, sets the reality of what the 1950's clothes were designed for - hard work and to last in all weathers?! - So, no Primark then?

I'm so excited about the return of Call the Midwife. In times of horrors and slaughtering programs, it's good to see a different sort of 'blood and guts,' with the main character creating  life, rather than destroying it!

This season is due to be another heart throb, however, this time with gripping drama included! It addresses the issues looming in the 1950's, and this time will focus on the enforced prostitution in London and nursing technology, including 'gas and air'...

Here are a few thing's vintage, that appear on the program, that you can still buy for yourself to Vintage up you life!
I just love the Robert's radios. This Vintage style Robert's Radio, proves how Vintage still go on - just like Robert's Radios, which was founded in the 1930's and still lives on today! I wan't this radio in my Kitchen! Radio - £138.

Another Vintage item, staring in Call the Midwife, which is still as popular today, is the Bicycle. I've always dreamed of riding my bike with my little basket on the front - only problem is, is my house is surrounded by fields  so I doubt it would be very practical... Still, I tell myself this will be my first 'investment' when I go to University!

Well that's all from me!
Anyone else excited for Call the Midwife? Hope you all enjoying the snow too!

How Blondie Spent Her Saturday X

Well I bet your thinking 'so where was this weekend's shopping trips?'
No, no, I did something even more productive this Saturday (believe it or not!)
I've been on my first visit to York University for a lecture for History, on 'General Haig, World War 1' by Gary Sheffield. After initial remorse for the long 3 hour journey. It was great!

I just love history, and with an hour to spend scouring the shops I was happy enough with the days visit. Touching up on my History knowledge, and my 'wish list' wardrobe too!

I just love the Cathedral in York! Perfect day for a spot of shopping first! <3

Here's me and two of the girlies! from Left; Georgia, Katie, MEEEEEEEE!
