I was contacted in the early week by M&S, telling me about a Vintage dress competition that they were holding. And ITS BEEN SO HARD JUST TRYING TO CHOOSE A DRESS! If you want more details check out: The Marks and Spencer Blog Page, but I'll let you know my mission in a moment's time! First, I'd like to thanks M&S for this lovely competition, and point out my vintage dress choice, was actually from M&S, (may I add, from a very old collection) which has many personal stories - which obviously I'll end up telling! ahaha! Oh also, please check out the Marks and Spencer's Latest Dress range out now: http://www.marksandspencer.com/Dresses-Womens/b/43091030

My Entry:
The Vintage Dress I've chosen to enter (which I will repeat - was very hard!) was chosen simply because of the loving story behind it! One of the most amazing things about vintage clothing is that: 'one woman's tat, is another woman's treasure!'. This dress, claims to be a real vintage statement! It was my nan's, which she became tired of, and gave to my mother when she was younger. When I dug it out of her wardrobe a few weeks ago, I realised this vintage piece was more that a beautiful summer dress. It was also the dress my mother wore, when I was baptised. She only told me this once I was flouncing around in it around my house - and it's fair to say the dress has plenty of 'memories' to come.
Since the day I dug it out of the Wardrobe, it had become my favourite summer piece! And although the summer is coming to a close, I'm always waiting for 'sunny spells' on the weather forecast, as an excuse to wear it! So I just keep talking... but where is this dress I'm so obsessed with?
Well here it is:
First off - This lovely vintage 'M&S' dress, really is gorgeous. I love the pale blue colour and cream flowers which add stunning detail! My mom was nearly crying seeing me in it - as It's weird seeing it passed down, and loved just as much as it was when it was first brought. I've pared it up with a chunky brown belt (as the dress is a few sizes big for me) and added some classic beads, just to complete the look. I've also opened up the dress at both the bottom and the top, for a more summery feel, which really shows off the neck line. It's not everybody's 'cup of tea,' but that's the great thing about vintage - it highlights what's unique about you, as a person!
As you already know, my vintage pick was actually from an M&S collection many years ago, so it's really true that M&S's dress range really stands the length of time. So as for my 'M&S' dress pick, it has to be...
This Scoop Neck Angle Seam Flared Hem Dress!
The great this about this dress, is it's gorgeous line. It will look great on both curvy girls, and you slimmer ladies (when matched with a chunky belt!). It's also a block colour - which for one, never go out of fashion, and two, can be paired up with pretty much anything! So if you're tiered of buying dress after dress, stick simple, and you'll be able to re-wear it till it's worn at the seems (which in itself will take longer than you'd think). I'd love this in my wardrobe, as it's perfect for going out with family and friends. It's so simple, that I'm sure it would have many happy moments for many years to come! You can check this dress out and many other gorgeous pieces on the M&S website: click here.
So there's my Competition entry.
Thanks again M&S, and good luck to everyone else too! Please add me to your follow list if you've got the chance! I'd be happy to follow back also!
Lots of Love,
