Catching up with the blonde: Festival Stripes...

Hello! 

I can't believe it's already September and my crazy cram. everything. in. summer, has finally come to an end! It's been amazing, but I now find that I'm far from ready to continue my journey at university, when I head off at the end of this month.

Today's post is one of my many "oops, I meant to post that, but didn't" sort of posts. During August, I GOT MY UNIVERSITY PLACE AT BRISTOL, I went on a family holiday, volunteered at a local holiday club (involving lots of cream pies in my face), enjoying a few fab day trips, and an epic weekend at Western Park's Vfestival... so not a lot really.

 I thought I'd start off by sharing a few memories from the festival, and show you how I kept the festival look realistic - because believe me, the VIP experience is another league for the true festival experience!

Throughout the weekend, I relied on my trusty Topshop shorts and crop top combinations, to create a relaxed and effortless style. This year I also opted for a handy bum bag, rather than a rucksack, so I had more space to go crazy with my (commonly debatable) awesome dance moves. My Joules wellies made an appearance throughout the weekend, as the most comfortable dance shoes possible. I'd definitely recommend them, if your looking for a cheap option to Hunters!

On day one of the weekend, we treated ourselves with a yummy BBQ and enjoyed the grassy surrounding, that would soon become a wasteland of beer cans! Thanks to our local butcher, we had the great taste of a decent hot dog, before we fed ourselves silly on the nearby fish and chip stands! 

 

All in all, it was a fabulous weekend celebrating university places, exam results, and friendship, with some great people!

I'm hoping to do a few University preparation posts - we only get to be a fresher once, so I'm hoping to at least get myself organised for the first few weeks of term (here's to attempting the impossible).

The first fall of snow...

 "The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event."

 

YAY! A few weeks late, but the SNOW has finally arrived!
I've also had the last of my exams today, so the fun can really begin this weekend!
As our school let us out early this afternoon, me and my sister waisted no time to get out into the snow and put out hats and scarfs to good use...

 I took advantage of the snow to wear my New Look boots, with these great Over boot socks from River Island, that kept my feet EXTRA warm! These boots are great, as they have lots of grip and you can tighten them, to stop the snow getting in!

Another key piece in my winter wardrobe is this years coat from Dorothy Perkins. It's lasted me all winter, and definitely worth buying - as it's passed every coat quality test! My french style hat, has always had a place in my winter wardrobe (since I was about 6..) and keeps my hear cosy!

A wise old owl sat on an oak...

Weather permitting - seeing as around 98% of the UK is underwater or being rained on, I've managed to dash out between the spells of rain, for a post today!
My mom - being a secret shopaholic - (I think that's probably where I've got it from) brought me a lovely dress and satchel from her recent trip to London. Since opening my Satchel on Christmas day, I haven't put it down! It's a stunning vintage leather satchel - and I LOVE IT! Originally, I wanted a Cambridge Satchel. But, I think what makes vintage pieces so special, is you won't see many other parading them around town! PLUS IT'S HALF THE PRICE! My dress was another 'wise' purchase from Camden Loch market, and I've been seeing them everywhere recently...

I just love the pattern on the dress - being an owl lover myself, I can understand why my mom couldn't resist it! After a trip to town, I found they sell a similar design in New Look, Debenham's and Dorothy Perkins. I pared it with a mustard cardigan from Primark - another favourite piece this season! 

 This Pocket Watch was a beautiful Christmas present from a friend from School - Emma-lee. Yes that's Emma-lee (and don't you forget it!). So although I can't tell you where it's from, it's a great example of what to look for, when searching for your own! This one works - so finally I'm keeping track of my time!

I couldn't contain my excitement over my new satchel... as you can see! It was brought with a purpose of use for university - though somehow I can't see it lasting that long (however strong the leather is), once I've started using it. The straps are also adjustable, and the colour means I can match it with pretty much anything!

Well, that's all for today. I've got revision cards to make, books to read and notes to take - oh the joys!
